What is there to do in Salt Lake City?
My parents and I are considering a visit to go to the division finals of the ECHL hockey games. Our team (Las Vegas) may play for the division there, and we want to cheer our team. So what museums or other things are a good thing? Where should we stay economy but clean? What should the citizens of SLC do to encourage us we can’t see the city in a few days?

Antelope Island State Park is today the most developed and scenic spot in which to experience the Great Salt Lake. Hiking and biking trails crisscross the island, and the lack of cover — cottonwood trees provide some of the only shade — gives the place a wide-open feeling and makes for some blistering hot days. You can go saltwater bathing at several beach areas. Since the salinity level of the lake is always greater than that of the ocean, the water is extremely buoyant (and briny-smelling) — simply sit down in the water and bob to the surface like a rubber duck. Hot showers at the marina remove the chill and the salt afterward.

Well you could take a guided tour of the city? It is a great way to see a lot in a short amount of time. They have several companies that offer them.

You might also want to check out Park City and see some of the Olympic stuff. If you have time you might want to check out the Great Salt Lake and take some time to explore the park. There was this really cool train ride we took last time we were there, it was a great way to see the countryside and they have all kinds of different tours you might be interested in one.

There is also the aquarium which can be fun, it is not the best aquarium that I have been to but a great way to pass a few hours. They do have a touch pool which is really neat however this museum is geared more to kids, still they have some neat things.

There is a place called Thanksgiving point which I thought was really cool. First of all the scenery is just beautiful and second they have a lot to see and do there. They have the largest dinosaur museum in the world and it was really cool there was plenty to see. They also have a farm and a beautiful park.

You will have no problems finding stuff to do in the area, the best thing you can do is contact the visitors center for your free visitors packet, it comes with maps, attraction information and COUPONS which will save you all some cash! For places to eat be sure to check out Ruth’s Diner awesome place with a great breakfast menu they also have some awesome views and outdoor dining. They do have a Hard Rock Café if you like to visit them, I think they are always fun and the food is always good. The Sun and Moon Café has live music on certain nights and great food. JB’s Family resturant is the best around for “homecooking”. Pat’s Barbeque is a must they have the best BBQ around! Have a great time!
