my wife and I live in southern california and we are trying to buy our first home. we have been searching for the right home for us and our budget of 600,000.we are we unhappy with what we have been offered and seen for our budget, small homes in good areas or huge homes in bad areas, you know the usual. Upon a visit to las vegas nevada for a homeymoon, we did some house shopping and were amazed at what we could get there. Huge newly built homes in wonderful areas for half of what we would pay here. With our careers we have no problem relocating to vegas, so our question is: Are the property taxes substantially different for homes in nevada as opposed to california? what about utility bills? we know you have to run air in the summer and heat in the winter, but is that a real issue? we basically want to know is it worth buying a home in nevada as opposed to staying and buying one in southern california. Property taxes, utilities, etc. thank you

i recently moved to las vegas, nevada and been here for 4 months. love the night life because my roommates seen to know alot of people who work in the nightclubs. everything you seem to need in a city can be seen in las vegas. anyways ive meet alot of people in las vegas even more at work.

alot of people ive talked that lived in vegas for awhile or even grew up here seen to hate las vegas. they told me they hate the weather, they hate the rude people, its a bad place to raise a family, not a diverse place, no culture except for the casinos.

i recieve so many negative feedbacks about las vegas. is there anybody out there that lives in las vegas that loves the place? seems like alot of former cali resident including myself are living in las vegas now. they probably home sick.

I live in Las Vegas, Nevada. I am 12 years old and recently home schooled. Im in 7th grade and next school year I want to go to private school so then ill be in 8th grade. I just can’t find a private school! Can you help me find one please? One thats good and doesn’t give a lot of homework and doesn’t have a lot of tests/quizzes lol. Help please!

Should Crossing the Road While Not Sexy Be a Crime?

Just a minor crime, a ticket, like jaywalking.

Here are the benefits:

a) Highway beautification

b) good for the economy, more makeup, shoes, and thin blouses sold

c) good for employment — the "Not Sexy Police" would be genuine new jobs that the average guy or gal could fill without expensive training or more degrees.

d) health benefits include reduction in obesity and specifically Lardy B*tt Syndrome, which is a slow killer (of dreams).

e) there could be Courts, so jobs for judges. Being married would be a defense, unless one’s spouse chose to come to Court and testify for the prosecution, which I think many would.

f) the marriage business would thrive, so more couples show up at the Church of the Flaming Sword of Las Vegas Nevada, I can right off my staff, collar, and miter faster.

g) farm girls headed for town could extract more cash from their dads — You don’t want me to get fined do you?"

h) the glasses and contact lens businesses would pick up — there would be more to look at, people would care to see with better focus.

i) More Japanese tourists with cameras are always welcome — spend those Yen.

j) America would start regaining its old reputation as the sexiest nation on Earth — we are getting heavy competition from the Aussies, the Brits, and the Chech Republic these days, and from Russia, we don’t want a sexiness gap.

k) the news would be more fun to watch — who was ticketed today for crossing the road while not sexy — pictures at 11.

I always want to make things better, and this modest proposal is for the good of all of us. Who is with me?
