My husband and I put an offer in on a place her in the Vegas area and learned from our realtor that there was one other offer put in around the same time. She told us that the listing agent said ours was the higher offer. Both offers were submitted to the bank (it’s a foreclosure property) today. What are the odds that ours will be selected? AND, does a bank have to counter BOTH offers? Or just the better one. In other words, how does a bank determine which offer is better????

We were familiar with the Las Vegas area a few years ago. But, we know things change. We will be moving to Las Vegas very soon & need to know which areas are best for condos & apartment living. Which areas are safest? Whish areas are the most convenient to the Medical Center, shopping, etc.? Also, which areas shoud we avoid?

We have a permission based email address list for realtors in the Las Vegas area that is being blocked from broadcasting and we really need to get these emails out as they pertain to weekend invitations for open house homes for auction. How do I get this spam blocker removed so that these work related emails can go through?

I am helping a friend to research possible vacation property in the Las Vegas area. Can anyone advice me on a good family oriented community in Las Vegas that has newer homes (no older then 5 years old) with 2000+ sq ft that is no farther then 40 minutes from the airport? I’ve heard of North Las Vegas & Henderson however, I don’t know much about these places.

My husband and I have just sold our home in Virginia and would really like to move back to the western US. We love the Vegas area (not the strip). I know that the housing is really low right now and would be a good time to buy….BUT…I need to know about the potential for employment. I am finishing my degree in environmental management and will be done by June. My husband will continue at his job in Iraq until next fall, but then he will need to get a job in Vegas also (his field is occupational safety). I know what I’ve read about the employment rates out there, but can anyone give me advice on these the availablity of jobs in these two fields? I am a licensed massage therapist and nail technician as well and could do spa work to tide me over if necessary.
If not Las Vegas than any suggestions (other than cities in the Northeast) where environmental and safety jobs are in high demand?

The place I’m interested in is about .5 or so from Red Rock Casino.

I’d be moving from a studio apt. in N.Santa Ana, CA. Can you give the positive things and negative things about moving to Summerlin/ Las Vegas area. I know CA. is very expensive, you don’t get anything for your money, the weather is humid alot in the summer and the taxes are terrible and only going to get worse. I sought a change would be good as renting a studio for 0 a month, you have no future or leverage

I took real estate appraisal classes back in the 1970′s and learned some basics. I look on-line at the Yahoo home values and find that Zillow values my home at 7,000 and e-appraisal at 2,000. The 10 comps show an average of 7,000. What gives here ? I do not understand how the appraisals can vary by such a huge margin. This is in the Las Vegas area and we do have the highest foreclosure rate in the Nation. My tax appraisal dropped to 7,000 this year because of the decrease in values. Not interested in selling, just curious as to how such a wide variation between Zillow & e-appraisal is possible, when both should be using the same data.

I’m wondering what should I do with my money. I’m 25 yrs. old and I have a full-time and part-time job. I invest about 7% of my earning into my retirement account. I have approximately ,100 in the account. I live at home, so I’ve been fortunate enough to pay off one of my student loans(perkins) and I owe approximately ,770 on my other loan(federal direct). I plan to go back to school for my master’s in the Fall of 2011. My goal is to purchase a home once I finish school in 2013. I have approximately ,000 in various savings accounts. I don’t have any credit card debt, so next year and while in school I plan to aggressively pay down my last student loan(I imagine once I finish my graduate program I’ll be in about ,000 debt, so I want to get rid of some of this debt). I know educational debt is good debt, but debt is debt when you’re trying to purchase a home. By 2013, I believe I’ll have about k saved.

My question is what should I do with my money now? The person who handles my retirement account is trying to encourage me to invest in life insurance. I don’t see a need for life insurance since I don’t have dependents or liabilities. What makes sense for me? I’m considering investing in real estate in the Las Vegas area. I see some properties listed as low as ,000. I also figure it may sound nice, but with all the foreclosures in Las Vegas the property value could be horrible. Would it be smart to invest in Vegas now and buy in Los Angeles 4yrs from now. What should I do? I feel like I’m letting my go to waste and it’s not working for me!

I am currently deployed to iraq and Im saving up money to invest in either the stock market or property in vegas (since I go there a lot, and it seems to be the foreclosure capital right now). I want to get a really good deal on some property and have a lot of money saved up. I currently own a house in Austin, TX and I want to buy a second property in the Las Vegas area. Can anyone give me some good advice on this. I have a steady income and no risk of losing my job. I made about ,000 this year most of which is tax free since im in a combat zone, and will make about ,000 next year. I was thinking either a condo or a house there. thanks
