Need help, overall where would it be best to move AZ or NV?

Right now my husband of 3 years and myself live in Los Angeles, and frankly i’m sick of it. Rent is so expensive here. We pay 900 for a 1 bedroom home. We do want children in the future upcoming years and we wld like to own a house of our own. We know we wldnt be able to afford that here. We are looking to moving to either near the las vegas or n.las vegas area or phoenix, az area. which do you think wld be best to rent a home for a few years and have a family in our own home later on? I’m personally looking into nevada more thn arizona. ive researchd companies that do the same work my hubby does and ive found more positions in nv then az. We have family in Arizona, which is a big factor 4 my husband but not for me. I used to live in n.las vegas years ago when it wasnt that populated yet and i loved it! which is why i’d love to move back..but i need help with reasons for the hubby!

What is the healthiest breed of toy dog?

Las Vegas in need of a job – willing to take anything.?

I attended Harvard and I have a Bachelors in Business. Unfortunately no one will hire me. I am willing to take any job as I am desperate. I am on my 1st 20 week extension but based on this article it sounds like I will not have unemployment by the end of March. http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2010/feb/15/group-says-unemployed-nevadans-will-lose-benefits-/
I will take any job. I am even willing to work as low as .00/ hour. My only issue is that my husband and I share a car and he works nights while I work days and we have a baby. We cannot afford daycare. We live in a cheap apt and have cut back on our expenses. We clip coupons and save money in every aspect possible. We were smart and knew not to buy a house when we were approached a few years ago. I even make my own clothes and we roast in the summertime to save on AC. I have done manual labor and not afraid to get my hands dirty. My only issue is I need a job that will allow me to work 5am-1:30pm or 6am-2:30pm. I am happy to work any day of the week it just needs to be mornings. My previous job allowed for me to work this schedule but I was laid off due to the economy. Also I was in the top 5% for performance and have always had perfect attendance. If any one of you know of a company that will hire me for an early AM job that is in the Las Vegas area for at least .00/ hour I would be greatly appreciative of your solution.

What's a good personal injury lawyer in Las Vegas?

I got into an accident on my way home from work yesterday and my wife said I should probably get an attorney. The problem is I don’t know how to even go about finding one. Has anyone had any experience with lawyers in the Las Vegas area? How do I find a good one? Any websites I can check out?

Please, any help is greatly appreciated. Please respond ASAP.

Relocating to Las Vegas!?

I am thinking about moving to Las Vegas in the next year or so. Are there realators that anyone can recommend? I am looking for a condo that is fairly new and in a nice/safe area? A place where there are more young professionals than families living would be nice as well. I am looking to buy a place if I can find something in my budget. What areas would you recommend? Something within resonable driving distance to the Strip would be good too in case I work there.
Thank you for your help! Actually I work on a cruise ship. Have for almost 4 years now and am looking to do something on land in another year or two. I thought if I save as much as possible during that time then I will be able to invest in a nice 2 or 3 bedroom place and maybe rent out the other rooms. Don’t know how successful that would be in the Vegas area. I thought that Vegas would be a similar atmosphere to the ship which I enjoy. Lots to do in the off time I would think and hopefully the job opportunities are plentiful. Any more info about living in the area would be helpful. What is the quality of life like there?

Is Las Vegas much more then Casinos & Strip Clubs… Read On?

I am expected to move to the Las Vegas metro area by end March – likely the Paradise/Henderson area. I appreciate if some native or knowledgeable persons can best prepare me for relocation.

I want to move to an area that is not too much congested with CASINO GAMBLING and STRIP CLUBS / but has much SHOPS & RESTAURANTS / and RELATIVE LOW CRIME – basically a clean fun night life or things to do area – Henderson I understand Yes, Spring Valley? part of Paradise?

Please advise?

Also please tell me in regarding exclusively the Downtown Vegas area:
1/ About how many square miles is it considered, and it’s borders- city-data.com indicates roughly 10 sq mi, maps indicate at least 25-30 sq mi?
2/ ABOUT WHAT PERCENT(%) OF THE BUSINESSES ARE GAMBLING OR STRIP CLUB RELATED

Thanks to all who answered!!!

Why are so many people down on Las Vegas area?

I’m interested in buying a forclosure property, but I’ve read a lot of negative comments.
I’ve visited many times and have a some what of a good idea of this area. Here’s the negative aspects people complain about:
The weather: It’s too hot.
But I rather be hot than cold freezing my ass off.
For most of the year, (except for two months July/August) the weather is great.
There is no culture there.. What about the strip? . There’s tons of shows and circus acts, singers , dancers etc. I mean it’s not New York but NY is so expensive, so is San Fransico and Los Angeles. So what’s better as far as cities that are affordable go?
Now I know this city has been hit hardest in this economy. but so has most of California. ALso people who say they rather live in L.A> unless you’re going to live in BEL AIr, or Beverly HIlls, most of L.A sucks. The Air quality in Vegas is better than L.A. I rather not be in breathing all that smog and dealing with the impossible traffic that LA has.
The desert is ugly to look at.
How can people say that? Those mountains are so pretty there. They change different colors. Plus you have incredible national parks Red Rock and Fire Canyon. Unique desert plants and animals. It’s a change of scenery, but it’s beautiful in it’s own way.
There is crime there.
Well isn’t there crime in every city?
I just don’t understand why people who live in Vegas area are so burnt out on it.
Also people are always going to gamble. Tourists’ from all over the world come there and keep that place going so Vegas I’m sure will survive this hard time. Vegas is not Detroit.
Also how about the world class shopping? It’s like Disneyland of shopping. How many places in this country have so many stores? And the food! World class chefs. Good food and plenty of restaurants. So why do people hate it so much there? Seems like a decent city to me.

Where can I find a commercial kitchen to rent in Las Vegas?

I am starting a small business from home selling my homemade desserts and cant use my own kitchen for distribution. Where can I find a commercial kitchen to rent in the Las Vegas area. I would need to rent this space until I can afford an actual building for my dessert business.

What do banks look for when comparing more than one home offer?

My husband and I put an offer in on a place her in the Vegas area and learned from our realtor that there was one other offer put in around the same time. She told us that the listing agent said ours was the higher offer. Both offers were submitted to the bank (it’s a foreclosure property) today. What are the odds that ours will be selected? AND, does a bank have to counter BOTH offers? Or just the better one. In other words, how does a bank determine which offer is better????
We’re pre-approved. We have k liquid reserves.
