I’m a undergraduate student at University Las Vegas and my major is Hotel Administration and Casino Gaming Management and I’m planning on going for my Masters Degree in Hotel Administration.

I’m originally from Southern California and am going to school in Las Vegas I plan to move out to Vegas after I’m finished with school so I can start a whole new life (career / family etc. ) I’m 25 years old and hope to land a job in one of the major strip hotels like Wynn resorts, Sands, Harrahs, or MGM Mirage.

By the time I finish school which will be probably around 4 years from now since I’m a double major and plan to go for my Masters, will their be anyone that will be hiring for my career field? What are the best resort companies in Las Vegas to work for?

Will housing still be affordable in Las Vegas or will the prices rise in the future? I really want to start a family once I have a good career in Vegas and be financially stable. What are good areas in Vegas to buy a home?

I’m just asking because I don’t know Las Vegas that well. Any help! Thanks

Last year, due to employment problems with MGM CityCenter, I was unable to keep my apartment in Las Vegas and was forced to move back home to California. I was unable to pay the rent come month 7. I’ve checked my credit report, and I have no public records saying I was evicted. I am in a much better job making good money with Marriott and looking at getting an apartment with a coworker, but I am worried that because of that last apartment I will be denied.

So besides your credit report (and calling the property, which thank god is automated and no one at the property actually answers the calls) is there any other way to know that I left or may have been evicted?

We currently reside in Arkansas. I am the only one working, and my husband brings in no income. I’m trying to get information to find out how difficult it would be to leave the state with full legal custody of my children if I have family in Las Vegas, have a place to live and employment prior to actually leaving. I do want my husband to have visitation.
If i just move without filing for seperation/divorce, wouldn’t he be able to say i was "kidnapping"? That was my main concern.
And he wont consent. My thing is, he has no job, no way to provide for the kids, and I do. Thanks for the help so far, i appriciate it.

Basically ive got a wonderfull girl…shes a dancer but it really doesnt bother me… We stayed in Portland when we first got together….its been 1 year and 1/2 now i just went to las vegas a month ago stayed with a friend and until i go my own place now shes here and came from a motel(she was waiitng for me to say come down) and i got us a place here now shes here and doesnt like Vegas and wants to go back to the northwest! and leave me hanging down here bymyself with out a job so i have a nice condo and no girlfriend with me what do i do??? i told her to cash me out before she leaves…..

ok heres the stupid deal
my father is giving me money into my bank account
but everyone in my family is possibly moving away and i dont want to move wih them but i can move to my father in las vegas but i dont want to do that as of yet

i wanted to be on my own for at least 2 or 3 months and i met a girl i like here too so i wanna spend some time with her also

i need a place to stay like a month to month type of thing and it needs to be in expensive , i am only one person after all

ive tried craigslist and the papers and stuff but i dont know where else to look

I would like to find a place with low crime, a good Christian church, good elementary school, and family-friendly housing.

We currently have a 2 year old son and would like to have more children. DH is an engineer and will probably get a job working at one of the casinos. We would like to have a dog or two so an area with homes with yards is our preference (also for the kids to play.)

I’m thinking of Summerlin but I don’t know the city all that well so I welcome your suggestions. Thanks!
Is Henderson a different city?
Okay, I know it is hot. I lived there for 4 months already and DH lived there for 3 years before. So please, no more posts telling me how hot it is.
I should clarify I lived there from June until September.
I guess good is subjective. A good church for us would be one that is well established and has many young families attending.

A good school would be not a lot of drug dealing, skipping classes… that sort of thing.

Okay me and my ex boyfriend has been on and off for about 6 months. He is stingy and cheap i think alot has to do with the fact that he gives his mom money every month and he pretty much set up a damn bank account for her to get money out of his check.He doesn’t do any real stuff for me he does want to take me out from time to time but he knows i don’t like going no where so i think thats his way of trying to pretend that he wants to knowing that i don;t want to go anyway. Im not working right now and hes in the airforce. Its like he wants me to have a job so freaking bad, thats all he talks about. He doesn’t say baby come stay with me until you get on your feet. Its mostly oh you need a job. I live in northern california and he stays in las vegas, nv and both states have messed up economies and i have been trying extremely hard. But it seems like he wants to deal with someone with a job.My mother is getting in my *** about what he does for me besides screw me and i cant really say what he does cause its nothing there. She says if a man truly loves you hell show it not just screw you. Its humiliating! I hate it! I lost 50 dollars on the crap table because he told me he wanted me to play with him and he borrowed 20 dollars from me. So when he won 700 on the crap table i asked him could i have my 70 dollars back. He replied and said no at first then he got upset and said take your money and get out. Then he came back and started lying about how he only owed me 40 or sum crap and that’s what he gave me 40 dollars. And he started bragging about how he feed me the whole time for two weeks and he don’t owe me nothing. Even though i cooked all the damn meals that i ate.We get along cool but its just this stingy shyt he got goin on! WTF! HELPPPPPPPPPPP

If anyone can give us any advice, it would be greatly appreciated. I don’t know anything about this, so I’m not even sure where to begin. Since it’s considered a secondary home (even though we don’t own a primary home), I don’t think we’ll qualify for anything. Advice please???

I figured it would be easiest to do this in list format. Here are the details:

- We rent our primary residence in California (we’ve been renting for the past 10 yrs).
- We purchased our 2nd home in Las Vegas – plans fell through to move there so we’ve been renting it to tenants the past 3 years (now an investment property although rent barely covers 1/2 the mortgage).
- Our tenants just moved out so now we have to cover the ,200.00 rent plus start paying electric and water bills.
- We’re being forced out of where we’re living now because the owners are doing a short sale. The new place we’re renting is 0.00 more a month.
- We are current on our payments but fear we’ll have to miss payments soon since we have to come up with ,500.00 more a month (we’ve been notified by our property management group that it’s been hard finding new renters unless we significantly lower the rent).
- I was just told that I may be put on part-time again due to the slow business.
- Do we have to be completely out of savings, etc, in order to qualify for anything?

The house we are living in right now we are renting from our landlord (we don’t own our primary residence). We were supposed to move to the Vegas house but was unable to due to personal reasons. My husband did try to look for a job there but the tech positions there don’t pay as much as they do here in Silicon Valley (I’d be working as well). And unfortunately, my sister and her family are living with us right now so whatever they can repay us is all that we can get from them. We definitely didn’t buy the Vegas house as a means to make a quick buck. It’s been five years and the rent didn’t cover half the mortgage.
Ibu: We did it as a secondary residence since we couldn’t move in right away. After a year, we started renting it out. It was never claimed as a primary residence.

I am thinking about moving to las vegas from Pittsburgh. I used to live there in the late 90′s and have been wanting to go back.I work in the resteraunt business as a waiter and was wondering what cards you now need to work in a resteraunt in a casino and if you need any to work in a resteraunt that is not in a casino. How if you know to set up a job before i move. And also the safest places to live. I have been looking in Henderson.Also what is the average monthly take home for waiters in Las Vegas.

I’m out of ideas! The economy sucks so bad. I have a college degree but can’t get a job call back. I was laid off almost 2 years ago! I live in PA. I’m thinking of moving to Las Vegas and just doing it for a year until the economy is better. The weather’s great out there too. I don’t do any drugs or smoke either. I know there’s a lot of drugged up skanks that dance but can’t a level headed girl make a living and what does it really involve? Just dancing?
