Because it was raining I could not stop fast enough and slid into the back of a blue Subaru. I thought it was going to be a major accident but luckily it was just a hard push, causing minor scratches on his and my car along with some small dings

The driver of the Subaru was very nice and calm about the situation. He and I exchanged insurance information and headed our seperate ways, he said he would call me later that day

He called and told me he didnt want to report it to the insurance company (concerned his rates would go up) And I didnt want to file a claim either (I am 20 and my insurance would SKYROCKET if I had filed a claim) He and Iagreed we would work something out and that I would hear something soon from him

The accident happened February 24. I took photos of the damage with my cell phone and the photos are dated

Today as I was coming home from the beach, he calls me and tells me why he has not heard from me. He told me that he had been out of the country tending to some family related matters and that the estimate from the body shop was 0 and that he wanted me to pay him that

He told me he would be in my city (Orlando, FL) this coming weekend (he divides his time between Orlando, Atlanta, and Puerto Rico) and that he wanted to meet up with me to pay him

It is too late to claim this on my car insurance, which is expensive enough already (0 a month) and I have about 00 in a savings account but I am planning on building that up more because I am moving to Las Vegas, NV as soon as I find out about a job there

I want to do the right thing and pay him for the damage, but at the same time it has been so long since I have heard from him (nearly 2 months) I had thought this whole situation was over and done with, and I do not want to dip into my savings which as of late I have been struggling to add anything to it

Can he sue me if I do not pay him the money? Can I get arrested? What can I do, it has been over 2 months since the accident and havent heard from him, he still probably has my insurance info. I dont think I have his anymore as I thought this was behind me

The hospitals are so expensive here in Las Vegas. I added up our bills and we pay 1400 a mo, that is if i am remembering all of them. We don’t have cable, we don’t have credit cards, we don’t go to the movies or spend money in frivolous ways. We are just trying to survive in a studio apartment, ah the love of newly weds.

I was thinking of quitting my job but since his contruction work isn’t very stable we might not be able to pay the bills and that scares me. That’s what scares me about the baby. How are we going to pay for a baby when we can’t even support ourselves sometimes in this economy. We’ve looked for other jobs but no one seems to be hiring.

So my question i guess is has anyone had a baby without insurance here in las vegas and lived to tell about it?
I went to two different social workers for two different hospitals. they have an income scale. for 2 (me and the baby) with my husbands income we are 700/mo over. if the goverment allowed my husband to be included but not receive beneifts we would have medicaid right now. but they wont becuase he hasn’t been a citizen for 5 yrs
our apt is 400/mo with bills included. i’ve never seen anything that cheap even in iowa where i am from
we got denied because at the time my husband had just started working at a new construction company that paid him 15/hr 40hrs a week. but now he is back at the old one where he gets paid 250/week maybe. and his hours arent secure. (long story don’t ask) so i am calling again today or monday to see if we qualify now…thanks for all the help

1. The driver came back at which time he said the vehicle was still registered and insured under the previous owner (his friend), will they go after his friends insurance?

2. I have gap insurance, will this be touched or will everything go through the guys ins?

3. I’m jobless…how do I get another car out of this situaion, will I be compensated over what my car is worth plus some?

I’m so very confused right now…PLEASE HELP

I filed Chapter 7 in 99. My current income as insurance and financial advisor is too high for 7 here in Vegas. Right now it is around k but can get much higher.

A chapter 13 concerns me because of the 3 years of payments, its effect on my credit and potential to get another good job should we move, and we may not be able to get a house should we move.

I could liquidate the retirement and pay off the debt and have about k left after taxes and early withdrawl penalties. This would also include the tax liability for the k I took from my account last year.

As a financial advisor, I know that the withdrawl we took last year was stupid.

MOM is giving me 50K for home purchase.
