Phoenix Arizona Casinos

Phoenix Arizona Casinos

For the gaming enthusiast or someone just looking to have a good time, there are seven casinos in the Phoenix, Arizona area. These include the following 2 Chandler casinos: Gila River Casino – Lone Butte and Wild Horse Pass, the following 2 Scottsdale casinos: Casino Arizona at McKellips Salt River and Talking Stick, and the Town of Maricopa’s Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino, Laveen’s Gila River Casino – Vee Quiva, and Fountain Hills’ Fort McDowell Casino. Technically, these casinos are not a part of the cities mentioned. They are adjacent to the cities mentioned and are located on Native American reservations. For instance, the Casino Arizona facilities are part of the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community which is made up of two reservations. The tribes also conduct other business activities and many, particularly the ones located in the Scottsdale area, have completed successful nearby real estate developments. They also are active in sponsorships and charitable endeavors. All of these casinos with the exception of Harrah’s Ak-Chin are located in Maricopa County. Harrah’s Ak-Chin is located in Pinal County, near the Town of Maricopa and the City of Casa Grande.

The casinos generally offer slot machines including hi-limit slots, blackjack tables, keno, and poker rooms. Some even include bars, restaurants, and live music or entertainment. The casinos are regulated by the Arizona Department of Gaming. Tribes are required by signed compact with the state to pay up to 8% of gaming revenues to the State of Arizona. The 2003 compact capped the number of casinos in the Phoenix area, prohibiting additional casinos. The state also regulates among other things the number of slot machines per casino and total, the number of blackjack and poker tables per casino, and establishes bet limits. The state (as well as federal government) does not presently allow Internet gaming. Phoenix Arizona casinos employ thousands of people, both members of the tribe as well as other people not associate with the tribe. They also create jobs for vendor companies, like food supply companies, event planners, construction companies, security firms, and many others.

The presence of Phoenix casinos have been a selling point for certain people relocating to the Valley. For one, these casinos offer many jobs. A chef that works in a Las Vegas or Seattle area casino might accept a transfer to her company’s casino facility in Maricopa County. Others simply enjoy the casino experience as a paying customer. Many people with money to spend would like to find recreational activities available to them beyond golf, hiking, biking, sporting events, and art galleries. While this same group may travel to Las Vegas via car or short plane flight once or many times per year, they would also like to have the ability to play an occasional hand of blackjack or put some money in slot machines on a more casual basis. These people often also select Phoenix for its climate, proximity to other Western cities, and other reasons. Phoenix Arizona casinos have had a major presence in the Valley of the Sun for many years and this will continue.

Las Vegas Casinos

Las Vegas Casinos

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to work in a Las Vegas casino? An atmosphere where people come to have fun and get away from their everyday lives is what you will get when you accept a position with one of these employers. The work environment is ever-changing, since the guests come and go.

If you have ever been to Las Vegas, then you know there is no other chip like the superior-quality clay casino poker chips they use. Since I have been to Vegas a number of times, other casino chips seem lightweight compared to the heavier duty Clay Casino Poker Chips.

Las Vegas can provide an atmosphere that you simply can’t get anywhere else. The ability to be swept up by the crowds and the excitement is unique. Not to mention the additional perks of Las Vegas, such as the live entertainment from big names performers. The sights, sounds, fine dining and world famous hotels make Las Vegas a fun destination for any gambler, whether you are serious gambler or weekend casino warrior.

They are the official size of the resin chips they have in Las Vegas, at 39mm in diameter. Since they are weighted, it makes it easy to shuffle them on the table during game action. I still remember my friends’ reaction, the first time I broke my set of 11.5g Las Vegas Casino Poker Chips out.

Multiply this figure by 2,000 slot devices, which a number of the largest Indian casinos have on their floors, and you can see the potential for why investors love gaming establishments. Earnings per machine are less in Las Vegas, where there is more competition but the concept of how money can be made is easily understood.

The variation in the chip weight depends on the material it is made from, the design that is used, and the amount of ink needed for it. No two casinos use the exact same composition for molding chips, and the are produced only by a very small number of companies, all from the United States, that are bonded. The blend used is well protected, to prevent chip forgery.

Las Vegas casinos is to understand that there are generally two individual types that are incorporated in these establishments. One type is the standard poker chip that normally displays a wide array of colors and uses a standard denomination system to identify them. Then, there are chips that are typically called “tokens” that are used in gaming machines, such as the slot machines.

Visit during the middle of the week because hotel rooms will be much cheaper then paying weekend rates and you also will not have to deal with the weekend crowds. Sign up for free players cards. You will find them at the players area desk at any casino. Even if you don’t play at the casino they will mail you offers including free rooms on your next stay.

Las Vegas Is More Than Casinos

Las Vegas Is More Than Casinos

Did you realize most people that fly to Las Vegas never experience many of the great attractions the Las Vegas area offers? Most people that arrive by plane, take a taxi or shuttle to their strip area hotel, stay there two to three days, and then head back to the airport. The Las Vegas area offers so much more so get out of the casino for a little while and see everything else the Las Vegas offers.

Hoover Dam, originally called Boulder Dam and Boulder Canyon Dam is located about 30 minutes southeast of Las Vegas in Black Canyon on U.S. 93. Construction of the dam began in 1930 and was completed in less than five years. The dam is named after Herbert Hoover, America’s 31st president. The dam generates 4 billion kilowatts of electricity every year from the Colorado River that feeds it.

Red Rock Canyon is located just west of Las Vegas and has some spectacular views. From the red cliffs and desert beauty to the abundant wildlife, Red Rock Canyon is an oasis of natural beauty just a few minutes from the Las Vegas strip. There is a 13 mile scenic loop which offers views of the geological history of the canyon and there are many, many spectacular photo opportunities.

Mt. Charleston is located west of Las Vegas and is about a 30-45 minute drive depending on where in Las Vegas you are. Mt. Charleston is a wonderful place to visit anytime of the year. In the summer, temperatures typically are 20-30 degrees cooler than the Las Vegas Valley area which means when you are trying to beat the 115 degree heat, its about 80 degrees at Mt. Charleston.

Mt. Charleston is part of the Spring Mountain Range which has peaks from 3,000 to 12,000 feet. Mt. Charleston is the eighth highest peak in Nevada. There are many activities on the mountain including hiking, camping for both tent campers and RV’s, skiing, and more. There is also lodging available at the Mt. Charleston Hotel and there are cabins you can rent.

Lake Mead was created by Hoover Dam and is the 16th largest man-made lake in the world. The lake is about 1.5 million acres and has 820 miles of shoreline. The lake area is managed by the National Park Service and offers year round recreation including boating, hiking, and swimming. Lake Mead also offers campgrounds, motels, RV parks, five marinas, beaches, restaurants and more.

Laughlin, NV is located about 90 miles south of Las Vegas and sits right on the banks of the Colorado River. Laughlin offers stunning views of the mountains and its riverside setting offers an enjoyable and peaceful alternative to the hustle and bustle of Las Vegas. There are many casinos in Laughlin, but its main appeal is the beauty of its location, just ask any of the five million visitors every year. Laughlin is the third most visited casino and resort destination in Nevada.

Valley of Fire is a 35,000 acre state park located about 45 minutes to one hour northeast of Las Vegas where visitors can see breath taking views of a valley formed millions of years ago. A two mile drive through the park gives you the chance to stop and explore the beauty of the valley. The park offers a couple trails to hike. A quarter mile hike allows you to get a glimpse of a water basin that was used as a hideout for an American Indian in the late 1800′s. The longer of the two hikes is a three mile hike through Fire Canyon. This hike has some awesome views so be sure to bring the camera.

So the next time you visit Las Vegas, get out of the casino for a little while and you will quickly find out why so many people are making the Las Vegas area their new home.

Where is a good place to raise a family in Las Vegas, NV?

I would like to find a place with low crime, a good Christian church, good elementary school, and family-friendly housing.

We currently have a 2 year old son and would like to have more children. DH is an engineer and will probably get a job working at one of the casinos. We would like to have a dog or two so an area with homes with yards is our preference (also for the kids to play.)

I’m thinking of Summerlin but I don’t know the city all that well so I welcome your suggestions. Thanks!
Is Henderson a different city?
Okay, I know it is hot. I lived there for 4 months already and DH lived there for 3 years before. So please, no more posts telling me how hot it is.
I should clarify I lived there from June until September.
I guess good is subjective. A good church for us would be one that is well established and has many young families attending.

A good school would be not a lot of drug dealing, skipping classes… that sort of thing.

Is Hillary as "other directed" as she claims in this exchange with Tim Russert?

Doesn’t she use the word "I" way too much or is it just me?

Russert: In New Hampshire, now, the famous scene in Portsmouth where you showed some emotion, was that exhaustion, frustration? What was it?
Mrs. Clinton: No. It was actually, Tim, a moment of real emotional connection. Those of us who are running for office and holding office, I know it may be hard to believe, we’re also human beings. And when I spend my time out on the campaign trail, it’s usually about what I can do for somebody else. You know, I’m very other directed. I don’t like talking about myself, I don’t like, you know, sort of the, the whole atmosphere of how people, you know, are judged in American politics too often as to, you know, what you say instead of what you do. And so for me it’s always about what can I do for you? How can I help you? And I was very touched when that woman said, "Well, how are you doing? How do you get up in the morning?" Because really, the question is for so many of the people that I meet, how does anybody get up in the morning?

I just went door-to-door in Las Vegas. I met construction workers who’ve lost their jobs, I met a man who’s been laid off from the casinos because the economy is beginning to go down. I meet people who can’t get health care for their families, people who are just distressed over, you know, what is happening in our country. So when somebody asks me, "How do you get up?" it really triggered in me, you know, the feeling that, you know, that’s what I, I want us all to think about each other. How do we get up? How do we, you know, pull on our shoes, go out and deal with the problems America faces. That’s what I intend to do as president.

We all know others need help, but we need to help ourselves first, right?

I don’t know if what is happening around the world is the beginning of the "End of the World", but what I want to know is why the government is sending money like crazy to others countries when the economy here in the US is going down hill! Hell, give me some money for gas at least since the gas is going up! You hear about how people don’t have jobs, people are living in the streets and losing everything they worked so hard for in we live in the US! What happen in Haiti is sad but why send them millions and millions of dollars when the average person over there makes like 3 bucks a day! Obama said that people in Las Vegas shouldn’t waste their money at the casinos that are here in the US, but yet we send money over seas to Haiti, Chile and i don’t know where else.

To rent or own in Las Vegas?

Let me list the cons and pros for this question.

Cons:
1. Lack of water supply now and into the future which could be even worse.
2. Global warming might make Vegas even hotter or unhabitable?
3. Casinos are looking for robots or machines as card dealers, more unemployment later on?
4. Home prices has gone up too much? A Bubble? Prices has not dropped back down yet?

Pros
1. Hot weather less mold and grass, tree pollen or allergy problem – good for allergy sufferers like myself.
2. No need to care for gree grass. More time to relax and enjoy life and also can have fun on the strip. Eat buffets because it is cheap prices.
3. Great place for entertainment all year round.
4. Not a nuclear attack target since nothing is in Las Vegas except gambling.

Will home prices drop more so is better to rent now and into next year?

Is allergy less of a problem in Las Vegas?

Is the hot weather only for 3 months from June to Sept only?

Is two story able to contain the heat?
Just heard the auto union is looking to expand into the casino work force. This was why casinos are looking into robot card dealers.

Where should a single guy like me move to?

I am looking for places to relocate to. I am currently in South Jersey, but am looking to go someplace that caters to single, active, professional males like myself. Here is a list of criteria. If you respond to list a city, state, or other location, indicate the reason why you recommend it, even if it doesn’t meet all the criteria. I really appreciate the input.

1) Location with lots of attractive, healthy, single women
2) Tough anti-smoking laws (I HATE SMOKERS)
3) Really good air quality
4) Low taxes
5) Lots of IT jobs available
6) Lots of good restaurants, culture, within an hour drive
7) Places were I can ride my bike and go running
8) Warm weather, and extremely mild winters
9) Decent cost of living
10) Extremely low crime rate
11) Someplace that has decent scenery, a beach, mountains, stuff like that.

Also, here are some places I have looked at in the past, and why I haven’t chosen them (yet).

Dallas Area – Not sure there were a lot of singles here, taxes were fair, housing is cheap, but anti-smoking laws are non-existant. Air quality needs work

Phoenix/Scottsdale – Very nice area, but the economy seems shakey. Lots of pretty girls too. Seems like it would be way to hot in summer.

Las Vegas – Lots of stuff to do, if you are into Casinos, and only Casinos. I always felt like I had to watch my back if I got off the strip

Toronto – Really liked the city, lots of pretty girls there. Didn’t seem like the air quality was great, and there wasn’t many areas I could ride my bike or even run.

Looking forward to your help…
