Should i get a friend drunk to get on a plane to vegas.?
A group of friends will be going to Las Vegas at the end of January. We will be staying at a condo that was just bought by one of them. One of our male friends will not have to worry about money for anything except gambling and we really won’t be going just to do that. We just want to party and enjoy other things that vegas has to offer. He is scared to get on a plane because he knows if it goes down, that he will be dead. I already told him that i was going to get him drunk but now i am seriously considering the fact that if something happens to him that it will be my fault and i will have his family to deal with. What do you think I should do?

In my opinion, that’s a poor plan. A drunk friend could be easy to put on the plane and may fall asleep, or he may get very loud and obnoxious and be difficult to control if he starts to freak out mid-air.

No one is allowed on a plane drunk. There is no way he’ll be allowed to board like that. If he’s scared to fly, why would you make him?

Are you stupid? If you get him drunk he could be denied boarding onto the plane you know! Don’t even think about getting him drunk, that is just ridiculous, if he gets crazy, or inappropriate they could deny him flight for the rest of the day to sober off.
If he doesn’t like planes, see if there is a train route from your city to Vegas, like amtrak, its long but it would be better than driving.

It’s not advisable to get drunk on an Aeroplane. Try other solutions like talking to him, saying "You know there’s more people get eaten/killed by lions each year than dying in air-transport accidents."

if hes gonna be drunk then youll practically be carrying your friend around in the airport and who knows what airport security will do. and, if he just has a buzz he’ll know whats goin on which means he wont get on

Don’t do it. From personal experience, it’s NOT fun to be drunk on a plane. My friends and I thought it would be fun to get drunk and get on a plane to spring break and it was just terrible. First, you’re cramped as hell and you can’t move around. There’s no air on the plane and God forbid if you get sick. After 6 hours on a flight, we were dehydrated, headachy, and woozy.
Take pills instead.

If he is drunk the airline has the right to not let him board.

The only time I’ve heard of someone drunk getting on a plane was in the opening pages of James Frey’s "A Million Little Pieces" and that turned out to be embellished.

No, you should not get him drunk to get him on the plane! It’s possible that the airline wouldn’t even let him on the plane, depending on how drunk he is or how obvious it is that he’s drunk.

tell him taking sleeping pill. When he get drunk, he may do something weird instead of sleeping.

Give him the actual statistics of flying. More people are killed in ONE day due to cars accidents than in 10 years of flying.
The chances of the plane going down is so VERY, VERY slim. Literally thousands and thousands of planes fly EVERYDAY – yet how often to they actually crash?
One out of every million flights or less!!!
Flying is one of the safest means of transportation…
Don’t get him drunk though – alcohol is a depressant, and it could actually make the situation worse.

just tell him that his chance to die on plane crash is one in a Million

Considering airlines won’t let you enter a plane when you’re intoxicated, I can’t see how that would be a good idea. A better idea may be to give him a nice dose (50mg) of benedryl once he gets on the plane – he’ll sleep the whole way.
