Las Vegas is mostly white, with a large Latino population. Living here is like living anywhere else, only more so.

To me Las Vegas feels more like Los Angeles than any other city. It’s even more like LA than it is like Reno. The one anomaly you have in Las Vegas is the Las Vegas Strip, 4 miles of what’s basically Disneyland.
The summer will be sunny and over 100 degrees just about every day, great if you like it; monotonous if you don’t. The desert sun is merciless.

Are there any normal people living in Las Vegas, who doesn´t play for money or involved in the money bussiness?

I lived their June 2003 to Nov 2007.
Summers Hot. Traffic Jams. Major illegal problems!
Minimum wage was like $5.xx amount of change; if you got health benefits. If no health benefits you get $6.xx amount of change per hour.
Right to work state. Don’t have to join the union. Yet your screwed if they (union members) get a good contract. Screwed if its a long walk-out.
Air pollution can be bad at times, yet they re-inforce this smog control yearly!
Major employers, casinos, CitiBank, was car dealerships need special license for the salesman teammember, few banks. If you can get a job with the city/state/county good for you. Earn a very good living off that salary. Bus drvers for the school districts, CAT public bus drivers. Ocean Spray/Cranberry world if its still their,

Don’t move here. It is VERY hard to get a job and VERY hard to make ends meet. A person making $10/hour will not survive. This town is heartless and if you get down on your luck, no one will help you. It is very sad.
The economy is being hit doubly hard. We first have the BS that everyone is suffering but people are cutting out travel. As a result many people are getting laid off.
The schools are very much crap. I would not want my kids going to CCSD and I am a teacher. (Don’t get me wrong, the teachers are great, but the policies of the district are HORRIBLE.)
If you HAVE to move, go to another city. There are better places. Our governor is an idiot who refuses to help kids and others who need it.
I do not know any people who live here that like it. In fact, everyone I know hates it here. I do not know a teacher here who like working in CCSD.
Please, avoid this place like the plague that it is.
