Is Lone Mountain, NV a nice area?
We are looking to buy our first home in Las Vegas. We found an awesome home in Lone Mountain, but we are not familiar with the area. I noticed it was just north of Summerlin. We want to avoid the roughness that North LV is known for. Anyone know anything about the area, schools (I have 2 very young children), etc? ANY iformation is appreciated. Thanks!!

Lone Mt. hmmm. I think you mean the area AROUND Lone Mt. It’s way north of Summerlin. New houses and the area is nice. I know people who live in NLV and it’s not the same NLV as you are thinking. The NEW NLV is very nice, with the Aliante area being just as nice as Summerlin or the Lakes.

Lone Mountain developments (not city name) is a nice area BUT you are right next to 215 freeway and that could be noisey.

YES..it is a fine place to live.
Every neighborhood in Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, Henderson, Green Valley and Boulder City are all EXACTLY the same….there are some nice people and some not so nice people.
I live 5 blocks from LOne Mountain. My kids went to the public schools here in Las Vegas. Both of my kids are well adjusted. played on their school sport teams and are in college.

Lone Mountain is a street in town, not an area. Just to avoid confusion. Unless it’s an actual community. Pretty much anything north of Rancho and west of North Fifth is a good area to look into. They recently developed the northeast and it’s really nice (check into homes in Aliante, for example). Also the Southwestern part of the valley is a really nice area. The rough parts of North Las Vegas is more Eastbound than where you’re looking, and Summerlin is a wonderful masterplanned community with a lot of parks, a great library, and good schools. It’s full of senior citizens and families.
