how do i get rid of ticks and fleas in my home? and is it true that fleas and ticks cant survivie in Vegas?
i recently bought a puppy and live in Las Vegas. I found something like dead tick around her food bowl. and once in my bath tub floating when I was having a bath and recently I have been itching terribly. I took her to Texas and that was when she started itching.

Well, check out your local pet store I’m sure they’ll have special powders to sprinkle on your carpet or some anti-flea spray.
Maybe they cant survive according to the dead fleas and ticks all over your house. hmm
And next time you come down to Texas, make sure your dog has a flea and tick collar. We got it bad with the fleas and ticks down here.

If you have little red itchy bumps, then you got fleas. Its a lot of work to get rid of them. If its a minor infestation, place bowls of water around your house, but you still have to wash EVERYTHING! If it gets bad, you’ll need a professional to do it. There are products you can buy that claim to kill them. And actually fleas tend to dwell in sandy areas. Ticks, don’t know much about them, except they dig into your skin, not just bite ya.

Orthoboric acid. Seriously. Put it on the floor, sweep it around a bit, leave it for a week, then sweep or vacuum up. Will keep the house clear of fleas and ticks for a year. I do it every year and I live in FL so we ALWAYS have fleas and ticks.
I recommend that you remove yourself and the animals for the day though. Do it in the morning and return at night. You dont want the dust to settle into your lungs. But other than that, it is perfectly safe. (The brand I use is called Flea Stoppers)
I have 7 cats and 3 dogs with 4 of the cats house cats. The best flea and tick cure I have found is use Revolution from the vets office. It is well worth the money but you have to use it on your pet once a month.
You may also have to treat the yard but I have never had to do that.
I would flea bomb your house. You might have to do it twice just read the can. You should be flea free by the second month.
Since your animal has fleas it has worms. Take it to the vet for worming.
I strongly recommend that you avoid over the counter flea medicine it is dangerous.
