Can Senators McCain & Obama reach an agreement with the President and Congress by tomorrow or this weekend?

Should these entities be put up for auction so that PRIVATE money (and not taxpayer money) can enter into the bidding, make it fairer, and lessen the burden for American taxpayers?
What will help these banks and mortgage companies loan again to those who can put 20% down? Getting those who made bad loans to lend again is critical; lubricating the lending facilities will, in turn, be critical in soaking up the high levels of real estate inventory in cities like Las Vegas.

If McCain stopped grandstanding and issuing press releases instead of actual work.
PS: As president, you are supposed to be able to multi-task so get debating!

It is going to be part of the president’s job to deal with more than one thing at once

Answer to your question: "Can they? Yes. They can do a lot of things except fly without a plane, heal the sick, raise the dead, or anything super-human." Will they? Who knows?
Asking private money to bid on these assets in a cash-strapped economy will not raise enough capital. These assets will be sold for a fraction of a cent and the homeowners will be forced to hand a huge windfall profit to the vulture speculators who will lowball the bidding, which likely will be rigged.
Having money in circulation, in the economy helps raise money to lend because business theoretically will be using that money to pay back debt, and incur new debt and put it all back in. Its debt based economic expansionism which in my opinion now is nothing more than a con job.
The money loaned for home purchases should be for the people who will live in them, not buy them up for resale and speculation.

I don’t watch CNBC or MSNBC..they are bias, and idiots at time..just enjoy riling..basically.

don’t like the negative VIBES..very toxic poisonous words.
the possiblity of unity seem REAL.
yet..as Lou, Glen, the rest..are right.
accountabity..oh..carl rove, Newt, ginrich, ect..are good..to listen to.
what they are saying..governemt bailout is basically a BIG LOAN.

good to our fragile economy.

if all out..democart from president on down..taxes and spending turly can explode..the temptation is there..but if republican president..is there..that great.

It doesn’t surprise me that we are such in dire straits. It not only banks lent money on homes that sold double for what they are worth, and a lot of people didn’t have the money to afford them. 4 dollar gas,Inflation that suck america dry. My personal thinking is let the country go broke. then maybe we can start all over with 5 cent bread and 20 cent gas. As far as them reaching a decission I doubt it.

It would be nice if the private sector could muster that kind of money,
since it can’t the $ 700 billion will have to come from somewhere or
else we will be up sh** creek without a paddle!

First neither McCain or Obama has anything to do with the agreement other than voting for it. They are not the ones that been on committees in both the Senate and the House of Reps. hammering out the deal (despite what McCain proposes to do).
They will meet Bush at the White House at 10 AM for a photo op which is saving McCain’s behind. McCain is not allowed to even be in the closed door sessions of negotiations. All McCain’s talk today was hot air.
When both committees have a draft, they will put it to debate and vote on the floor of each Houses. If there more revisions to be done, then more committee meetings.

Obama is a PRESENT voter not someone to actually work on a problem.
