You could easily add a list of those with republican mayors. It's silly to suggest that crime is tied to the party of the mayor. Most have limited authority. What they share is crumbling infrastructure, a declining tax base, the flight of wealthy whites to the suburbs and decades of neglect due to racism. People of color know that the Republicans don't care about them, so they elect Democrats in hopes that they will help. Most are not able to do much.
