I have some stuff I need to clean out in Vegas. What is the best method for getting what it is worth – some will be donated to goodwill but lots of small but good items. Ebay means shipping costs, pawn shops are horrible, etc. Do not own a house there so forget a "yard sale". Other than ebay, what can one do? And if you have to go through the expense of getting something appraised (which I doubt), which is best for more expensive items? Real suggestions only please. Thanks.

I’m thinking of getting into home staging for a business out here in Vegas- any feedback as to firsthand knowledge of the need and possible success of this business? Home staging is widely used on the east coast, but doesn’t seem to be known here. In this economy and with all the homes for sale, I figure the odds of getting work are higher if the value of staging is understood by the seller (many sellers do not want to lower their asking price and hence need to do something/everything to get the top dollar they’re asking for) (Home staging is, in a nutshell, basically decluttering/reorganizing/depersonalizing a home to create a picturesque atmosphere in order to get prospective buyers to feel like it could be their home, therefore bringing in top dollar for home sales to sellers and selling their home faster.)

Does anyone know?

Okay, so, it looks like we will be buying our first home in early 2010. I know the 8k credit wont be available to us at that point but it will take us that long to save up the down payment that is necessary so moving any sooner isn’t really an option. We have a good credit score (684) so qualifying for an fha fixed shouldn’t be a problem. We should be able to come up with the required 3.5% to put down without issue. We are looking at having to ask the seller to leave all the appliances and pay closing. What are the chances of us getting that? Any tips or buyers agent recommendations? Thanks!

And I was just wondering, why are these houses so damn cheap? Before even considering to buy one, i must know why. I mean, they look like decent houses… Is it because of a different reason? High crime rates, hot weather? 40K.. What? Wouldnt it take MORE than 40K to build one of these houses..??
